A mobile form should feel like a short, supported task rather than a desktop form compressed into a narrow screen. The test includes input, keyboard, validation, upload, confirmation, privacy, and the staff handoff after submission.
Keep the first step focused
Ask for only the information needed to start the request and explain why a longer field is necessary. Use steps or conditional questions when they reduce the visible effort without hiding what the visitor must complete.
Use appropriate controls
Choose input types, autocomplete, date, phone, email, number, select, and text controls that match the data. Make tap targets large enough, keep labels visible, and avoid a keyboard that hides the field or submit action.
Handle errors and focus
Show errors near the field, summarize multiple errors, move focus predictably, preserve safe values, and explain how to recover. Test a slow connection and a provider failure so a user does not resubmit a request that may have succeeded.
The form error checklist and accessibility test plan cover recovery and access.
Make uploads workable
State file types, size, privacy, progress, cancellation, retry, and what happens after an upload. Test camera, photo library, document picker, poor network, and a missing or oversized file.
Protect personal data
Use secure delivery, appropriate retention, limited analytics, clear privacy context, and safe confirmation. Do not echo sensitive fields into the URL, event parameters, or error messages.
Keep performance and layout stable
Test font loading, sticky headers, chat, consent controls, third-party widgets, orientation, zoom, landscape, and browser back behavior. Prevent the page from jumping when errors, keyboards, or success states appear.
Verify the handoff
Submit the form with real test records and confirm source, service, location, attachments, consent, confirmation, notification, CRM or staff queue, and duplicate behavior. Mobile QA should include what staff receive, not just what the visitor sees.
